Shaely didn’t find yoga instead yoga found her. At the age of 29, like many others she found herself in the circumstance of having to start over. The great thing about starting over is it switches your focus away from dwelling on those characteristics that limit you and redirects it toward recognizing your strengths from which you can realize your true potential…all of which has brought her here.
In 2011, she completed her 200 hour Hatha yoga teacher training under the guidance of Marla Ericksen along with a lineage of other influential teachers and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as a RYT200. She plans on growing as a student and teacher through the many programs offered by Empower ME Yoga Teacher Training Academy, like the Mentorship Program which she completed in August 2012. In 2015, she became certified as a Yoga for Round Bodies teacher, in the hopes of bringing more inclusion to the Ottawa yoga community.
Shaely teaches from that space in her heart that knows the benefits that a yoga practice has on someone’s mind, body, and spirit. She strongly believes that everybody can do yoga regardless of their age, level of flexibility or body type. She thinks Gandhi said it best when he said the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others it is for that reason why she teaches.
